Del Oro High School Athlete Killed In Crash In Rocklin

ROCKLIN (CBS13) - A local high school athlete was killed in a crash late Saturday night.

The crash happened near Park Drive and Villa Serena Circle a little before 11 p.m. According to the Rocklin Police Department, officers showed up at the scene and discovered that a car had lost control and hit a tree.

One person, the driver of the car, was killed in the crash, police say. A passenger was transported to the hospital and is expected to survive.

Police have identified the driver killed as 18-year-old Earl Andrews Galindo, known as "Ronny" to friends of the teen.

A Del Oro High official confirms that the driver was a student at the school. The student was a member of the football team, the school official says.

Police are still investigating the crash.
