Badly Decomposed Body Found In Sacramento Apartment

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Homicide investigators are looking for answers after the heavily decomposed body of a middle-aged man was found in a vacant apartment near North Highlands Sunday.

According to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department, deputies received a call at around 5:30 p.m. about a body that was found in a home in the 5800 block of Walerga Road, which is just northeast of Sacramento McClellan Airport.

Homicide investigators said the body of the 43-year-old male was in the late stages of decomposition. They say they were able to identify the cause of the death, but based on evidence, it did not appear to be from natural causes.

The victim's name has not been released. Investigators say the man is associated with the apartment, but the circumstances of his death are not clear.

Anyone with information about the victim is asked to contact the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department.
