SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – More decapitated animals have been found in Sacramento, marking another case in the string of macabre incidents since the beginning of the year.

The animals were found around 6:30 p.m. Sunday on the light-rail tracks at 26th Avenue between 24th Street and Franklin Boulevard.

The body of a goat, its head and a bag of chickens were discovered along with a decapitated rat and catfish.

"We do take this very seriously. Our department takes any crime involving animals very seriously," said animal control officer Clinton Nelms.

This is the latest in more than a dozen decapitated-animal discoveries in Sacramento.
