Death investigation underway on North Sacramento street

SACRAMENTO – A death investigation was underway along a North Sacramento street on Wednesday morning.

Sacramento police said officers responded to the scene near Sonoma Avenue and Callecita Street a little before 5:30 a.m.

Medics soon pronounced a person dead at the scene. 

However, police said preliminary information shows nothing suspicious about the death. Exactly how the person died is unclear.

The coroner's office has now taken over the investigation.
