Davis Man Accused Of Molesting Four-Year-Old Child

DAVIS (CBS13) -- A family man in one Davis neighborhood is now behind bars for allegedly molesting a four-year-old.

Eduardo Alejandro Letelier, 43, was arrested Thursday after the mother of the four-year-old called police to report her child had been molested.

Letelier owns and operates Ximenia's Daycare with his wife at their home on Braddock Court in Davis.

"He has come out and helped us, he will help the neighbors with anything they need," said one woman who did not want to be identified.

She says she's disturbed and shocked to hear the allegations against Letelier.

"The kids always seemed happy when I would see them going into and out of the daycare," she said.

Davis police say Letelier and his wife have been running Ximenia's Daycare for the last 15 years out of their home.

Police served a search warrant at Letelier's home on Thursday and arrested him.

Letelier was booked at the Yolo County Jail on child molestation charges and evading arrest.

CBS13 reached out to family members at the home Sunday, but they would not answer any questions.

The woman who isn't being identified he says Letelier's home has been a hot spot for recent police activity.

"They have younger teens that are there and we have seen them in police cars handcuffed and we have always kind of wondered what's going on."

Other neighbors say they trusted their children around Letelier and his wife; they say it was a well-liked daycare center for years, but now they see it as a danger zone for their children.

"You just don't know who is living next door to you, I would have 100-percent trusted him with my kid."
