Crews Rescue Injured St. Bernard On Mt. Tallac Trail

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE (CBS13) - Crews needed a little bit of help to rescue a rather large stranded hiker over the weekend.

The El Dorado County Sheriff's Office says their search and rescue team were alerted about stranded hiker Sunday evening on the Mt. Tallac Trail.

The hiker reported that her dog - a 110-pound St. Bernard - was injured.

Rescue crews found the two about two miles up the trail. At least four rescuers, along with the hiker, helped carry the Saint Bernard on a gurney to safety.

Last night SLT SAR responded to a stranded hiker with a 110 lb injured Saint Bernard K-9, 2 miles up Mt. Tallac Trail....
