Crews Battle 2 Grass Fires In American River Parkway

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Crews were battling two grass fires in the American River Parkway on Wednesday night.

According to the Sacramento Fire Department, the first blaze broke out near Bushy Lake and Cal Expo and was upgraded to two alarms.

This fire grew to about 20 acres in size and did not cause any injuries. Investigators are looking into the cause of the fire.

A second fire broke out not long after near Paradise Beach and River Park. The fire department said crews were responding shortly after 9 p.m. and were able to contain it by 9:30 p.m.

The fire department said the blaze burned about 15 acres and no one was hurt. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
