Several injured in Stockton after vehicle leaves Highway 4 and crashes onto city street

Crash in Stockton leaves 3 injured after car leaves highway, lands on city street

A two-car crash in Stockton ended with several people injured after a vehicle left the highway and landed on a city street, the California Highway Patrol said.

Around 5:20 p.m., a Tesla and another vehicle were involved in a crash on eastbound Highway 4. As a result of the crash, the unidentified vehicle left the highway and landed on East Washington Street.

There were three people in the vehicle that came to a stop on the street. The CHP said two of them had to be pulled out of the car by firefighters. They were all taken to the hospital with major to moderate injuries.

The driver of the Tesla stayed at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of DUI, the CHP said.

The CHP is investigating the crash.
