Crashes close lanes of westbound I-80 in Solano County
SOLANO COUNTY - Two crashes, including one involving eight vehicles, closed busy I-80 in Solano County during the morning commute Tuesday.
The crashes happened just after 5 a.m. in the westbound lanes of the freeway, just past Cherry Glen Road. One crash involved eight vehicles, and the second involved a motorcycle and a vehicle, the CHP says.
Fortunately, no one was injured in either crash.
Two lanes of the freeway are back open. The roadway is expected to fully reopen by 8 a.m., the CHP told Vacaville police.
Traffic through the area remains slow. The CHP urges drivers to avoid the area and use alternate routes. The crashes have caused traffic congestion on surface streets in Vacaville.
