Computer Problems Cause Delays On Southwest Flights

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Computer problems are causing delays to Southwest Airlines flights nationwide.

Southwest says multiple outages began popping up early Wednesday afternoon. The outages forced a temporary ground stop for flights that have not left the gate, Southwest officials say.

"We apologize to our Customers whose travel plans are impacted. We have a Team of experts working diligently to resolve the technical issues and their efforts have systems gradually coming back online. We expect to continue our move toward a normal operation but believe it will take time," Southwest Airlines wrote in a statement.

A number of departures at Sacramento International Airport are delayed. Head here for the latest info.

Airport officials said the system came back online a little before 2 p.m. Expect residual delays.
