Fleming has already confessed to killing his fiancée, Sarah Douglas, but testified it was not planned in advance.
The defense claims Fleming suffered an episode of something called dissociative amnesia, or "zombie" defense, after he testified he felt like a zombie during the incident and didn't remember much.
Prosecutors say Fleming confessed to detectives that he remembered consciously going to the kitchen to get a knife, then returning and stabbing Douglas.
