Citrus Heights Opens Temporary City Hall At Shopping Center

CITRUS HEIGHTS (CBS13) - Starting today, Citrus Heights residents who have to take care of city business will have a new place to go to.

The city's temporary city hall will open at 8 a.m. at the Grand Oaks Shopping Center on Auburn Boulevard. From permits to business licensing, you can expect the same services there that were offered at the old city hall on Fountain Square Drive.

The city is leasing the space for the next 13 months.

"All the things that people come to city hall for will be set up and running on Monday, July 13th," said Citrus Heights Vice Mayor Jeannie Bruins.

The move comes after the city council approved plans last spring to get rid of the old city hall so that Dignity Health can build a new medical facility.

Construction of a brand new city hall is slated for completion in 2016.
