CHP: Suspected Drunk Driver Caused Fatal Crash On Highway 99

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – California Highway Patrol tracked down a suspected drunk driver who fled the scene after causing a deadly crash on Highway 99.

The crash happened just before 4 a.m. Saturday on the northbound side of Highway 99. Officers say they tracked down 34-year old Jian Saeteurn thanks to clues left at the scene.

Investigators say the suspect rear-ended a vehicle, pushing it into a concrete pillar. The passenger in that car was killed.

CHP has only identified the passenger as a 49-year-old woman from Elk Grove.

Saetuern has been booked at Sacramento County Jail and is facing charges of felony DUI, hit-and-run and vehicular manslaughter.
