CHP Searching For Big Rig Driver In Death Of Tow Truck Driver On Highway 50
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A hit-and-run accident claimed the life of a tow truck driver on Highway 50 near Jefferson Boulevard.
The California Highway Patrol is searching for a big rig that may have hit the tow truck driver, who was outside of his vehicle on westbound Highway 50. Officers say the big rig driver may not have known they hit the tow truck driver as it appears they were struck by a trailer.
A CHP officer found the body of the tow truck driver at the accident scene around 9 p.m. The CHP says the tow truck had broken down and it appears the driver had stepped out to inspect the traffic side of his vehicle.
