CHP: Driver Made Illegal U-Turn Before Fatal Crash
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – One person is dead after authorities say the driver of a car made an illegal U-turn.
It happened early Monday morning on Highway 99 near Elverta Road. A pick-up truck couldn't avoid the car making the illegal U-turn. It then plowed into the car sending both vehicles into the ditch.
The driver of the car was killed on impact.
Officials say they don't know why the driver made the illegal turn, but witnesses say he was "dazed." They are waiting for a toxicology report, which could take a few weeks.
Tuesday, the Sacramento County Coroner's Office identified the man killed as 62-year-old Chattar Dhari Singh.
