CHP: Amtrak Train Hits Pickup Near Pleasant Grove, 1 Killed

PLEASANT GROVE (CBS13) – Authorities say a young man was killed after his pickup truck was hit by an Amtrak train.

The incident happened a little before 9 a.m. near Keys and Natomas roads. According to California Highway Patrol's Yuba-Sutter division, the Amtrak train was on its way from Seattle to Sacramento when it hit the truck.

CHP says the man inside the truck was killed in the crash. His identity has not been released.

It is unclear why the truck was on the tracks.

A couple hundred people were on the train at the time. No one on the train was injured, CHP says.
