Ceres Police Officer Cooks Meal For Elderly Woman Whose Son Recently Died

CERES (CBS13) — A Ceres Police officer went above and beyond to help an elderly woman whose son recently passed away.

Mike Vierra responded to a call about a deceased person at a home. The man who had died was Lorene Hoselton's son, who took care of her.

Knowing her family wasn't close by, Vierra checked in on Hoselton a few days later to make sure she was OK. When she mentioned she was hungry and needed groceries, Vierra collected money from fellow officers and prepared her a warm meal.
