Preliminary Magnitude-4.1 Quake Near Monterey Felt Into Central Valley

SOLEDAD (CBS13) — A preliminary magnitude-4.1 earthquake has struck east of Monterey on Tuesday morning.

According to the US Geological Survey, the quake happened around 9:09 a.m. and was centered around a little under 4 miles northwest of Pinnacles National Park along the San Andreas Fault.

The shaking could be felt into the Central Valley, including near Fresno to the east and just south of Modesto to the north.

There have been no reports of damage or injuries at this time.
