Central California Woman, 76, Arrested On Suspicion Of Killing Husband

FRESNO, Calif. (AP) -- Authorities say a 76-year-old Fresno woman was arrested last week on suspicion of killing her husband several weeks ago and leaving his body on the floor of their home.

The Fresno Bee reports police arrested Gloria Villa in the killing of her 78-year-old husband Bernie Villa.

Police found the man's body covered with multiple sheets of newspaper.

A motive in the killing was not clear.

The body was discovered after the woman went to a neighbor's home looking for her husband. The neighbor told police that Villa was behaving erratically.

Police say the woman was taken to Community Regional Medical Center for an evaluation. A search warrant for the home was granted by the Fresno County Superior Court to look for additional evidence in the killing.
