Catering Trailer Theft Deals Big Blow To North Auburn Barbecue's Catering Business

NORTH AUBURN (CBS13) — The theft of a catering truck has a North Auburn barbecue restaurant facing a big financial hit to the small business' bottom line.

Bam Dazy BBQ owner Brendon Sullivan is fired up over someone stealing his barbecue catering truck.

"They stole my entire business; everything is in there," he said.

In all, $60,000 worth of equipment was packed into the 14-foot trailer parked behind his restaurant on Highway 49 in North Auburn.

"Two smokers in there, eight-burner propane BBQ, two-burner propane cooktop," he said.

The theft is forcing him to cancel catering two weddings this weekend.

"They were devastated," he said. "I had made friends with these guys over the last year of them coming in and doing tastings."

Sullivan has been in the catering business six years, and he's well-known in the community for donating his time to charity events.

Now he needs the community's help, and he's hoping the crooks will feel the heat.
