Carolina Panthers DE Jared Allen Announces His Retirement

Carolina Panthers DE Jared Allen announced his retirement today. Instead of going the route of telling someone like Adam Schefter or writing something on twitter or Instagram Allen decided to do something a little different.

Allen filmed a video in the style of The Hateful Eight announcing he'll "ride off into the sunset."

"Hello everyone, I just want to say thank you for an amazing 12-year career," Allen said. "This was the part where I was going to ride off into the sunset. But seeing as how there's no sunset I'm just going to ride off."

Allen is a 12 year veteran with 136 career sacks playing for the Chiefs, Vikings, Bears and Panthers. Allen is a 5x Pro Bowler and 4x All-Pro and a 2x sacks leader.

Is he a Hall of Famer? It's hard to tell. Kevin Greene just got into the hall this year and has similar numbers (160 sacks, 5x PB and 3x AP).
