Car Crashes Into Tree In Fair Oaks, 1 Killed

FAIR OAKS (CBS13) - A person was killed after a car overturned and ended up in a tree.

The scene is along Winding Oak Drive and Windsock Avenue.

Authorities got to the scene a little after 8:30 a.m. Friday and found that a car had somehow ended straight up in a tree. A large debris field could be seen.

California Highway Patrol says the driver was killed in the crash. He has been identified as 58-year-old Orangevale resident Leonard Moreno.

Witnesses at the scene estimate that Moreno was speeding at about 65-70 mph when a approached a curve and was unable to maintain control.

Moreno was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
