California Reports 4,665 New COVID Cases, 233 Additional Deaths

SACRAMENTO (CBS) — The California Department of Public Health reported 4,665 new confirmed coronavirus cases on Monday, which is a 0.1% decrease from Sunday's report. There were also 233 more deaths reported, which is a 0.5% decrease from Sunday.

There were 277,454 new tests reported.

Health officials said the total number of confirmed cases in the state is now 3,446,611, while the total number of deaths is 49,338.

As of Monday, the 14-day rate of positive tests in California is 3.3%, which is a 2.3% decrease from 14 days ago. There have been 47,320,802 COVID tests administered so far.

There are 7,165 people currently hospitalized for a coronavirus-related illness Monday, a decrease of 148 or 2.1% since Sunday.

There are 1,816 ICU beds available, which is a 134-bed increase from Sunday.
