Burning Man Attendees Urged To Safely Dispose Of Trash
FERNLEY, Nev. (AP) — Attendees of the Burning Man festival are being encouraged to legally dispose of trash when they make their exit from the Black Rock Desert.
KRNV-TV in Reno reports (http://bit.ly/2bX776Q) that the company Waste Management is extending the hours at its Fernley Transfer Station along Highway 95A.
Waste Management officials say the additional hours start Sunday at 2 p.m.
From there, the station will be open 24 hours a day until 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Officials say it's a way for Burners to safely get rid of trash instead of littering it on the roads or over-stuffing commercial bins.
The Sage Transfer Station will also be open Labor Day from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The nine-day festival concludes Sept. 5.
