Burglary Suspect Caught After Reportedly Crashing Stolen Van

SACRAMENTO COUNTY (CBS13) - A burglary suspect in Sacramento County has been caught after he reportedly crashed a stolen van through a hedge and a fence.

The burglary happened in the Fair Oaks and Arden-Arcade area. Deputies say a man called 911 to say someone took the keys from his car and used them to get inside his house. When deputies arrived at the home, the suspect was gone. A short time later, they spotted a stolen van that was driving erratically and was allegedly being driven by a man believed to be the same suspect, according to deputies.

The van sped away from deputies and crashed through a hedge and a fence at Mission and Kenneth avenues. A later K-9 deputy caught the suspect in a tree on nearby S. Park Drive.

"The dog did a good job. The dog gets his dog food today," a deputy joked.

The van has Arizona license plates.
