Shooting At State Prison In Tracy

TRACY (CBS13) — Corrections officials say a fight at the Deuel Vocational Institution in Tracy led to a guard shooting an inmate.

It happened this afternoon in the main recreation yard.

We're told two inmates attacked and stabbed a third. That victim suffered stab wounds to his head and chest and was transported to a hospital.

After ignoring orders to get on the ground, a tower officer fired on the attackers, hitting one. He was also transported to the hospital.
