Boy, 17, Killed In Rollover Crash In Rural Sacramento County

SACRAMENTO COUNTY (CBS13) - A 17-year-old boy has died after a rollover crash in rural Sacramento County.

The crash happened late Thursday night. California Highway Patrol says a 1998 Mercedes was heading north on Hedge Avenue near Elder Creek Road when the driver lost control.

The car rolled over several times before coming to a rest on the driver's side in a ditch.

Three people were in the car: the driver, a 34-year-old man, and two passengers, a 25-year-old woman and 17-year-old boy. CHP says the driver suffered major injuries, while the 17-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene by medics.

The woman escaped with only minor injuries.

Investigators believe the car was speeding just before the crash.
