Big Rig Overturned Northbound HWY 99/Arno Rd

SACRAMENTO(CBS13)- A big rig has overturned on HWY 99 near Arno Road causing lanes from Dillard to Arno to be closed.

Sacramento CHP PIO officer Bradley tells us the big rig hydroplaned and hit the center median which caused it to overturn and drag about 150 feet along the guardrail.

Another big rig saw the accident just in time and was able to make a stop but could not make its way around.

One vehicle swerved around the big rig and crashed into the ditch. A second vehicle crashed into the back end of the big rig and a third vehicle crashed into the front car portion of the big rig and was found to be a DUI driver who was then arrested.

All parties involved in the accident have minor injuries.

The big rig spilled around 80 gallons of diesel onto the roadway along with some of the 29,000 pounds of toilet paper it was carrying.

CHP tells us a hazmat team is cleaning up the diesel spill and there is an unknown time of clearance.
