Bicyclist Hit And Killed In South Sacramento

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Eastbound lanes of 47th Avenue in Sacramento are blocked Tuesday after a bicyclist was hit and killed by a vehicle.

The incident happened around 6:45 a.m. near the intersection of 47th Avenue and 54th Street. A 1988 Toyota Corolla was headed eastbound on 47th Avenue when it struck the bicyclist as he was riding across the road, according to CHP Officer Mike Bradley.

The victim is identified as a 55-year-old man from Sacramento.

Drugs and alcohol have been ruled out as a contributing factor in the crash.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
