Beverly Hills Police Wound Bank Robbery Suspect

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) — Beverly Hills police wounded a bank robbery suspect in a hotel lobby.

Sgt. Brian Balleweg says the man was shot shortly before 4:30 p.m. Monday at the Luxe Hotel on Rodeo Drive.

He was taken to a hospital but there's no immediate word on his condition.

Balleweg says the man is believed to be one of two people who robbed a Bank of America branch about a block from the hotel.

Sgt. Matt Subin tells KNX-AM radio that one man was stopped and the other, who had a gun, was tracked to the hotel from a GPS signal device in the loot.

No officers were hurt in the confrontation.
