Bear Spotted Roaming In Orangevale, Captured By Fish And Wildlife

ORANGEVALE (CBS13) — A bear was spotted in Orangevale where it was captured by fish and wildlife officials.

The 250-pound ursine intruder was found near Oak Avenue Parkway, where California Fish and Wildlife staff shot it with a tranquilizer dart gun.

From there, the bear was moved to a national forest.

Officials believe it came to the area through the Linda Creek Corridor, and it was likely the same bear that was spotted in Granite Bay on Thursday night.

The bear's eyes were covered to both help calm it down and to keep its eyes from drying out.
