Reports Of BB Gun Shooter In Sacramento Prompts Sheriff's Department Response

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Several people have been evacuated from their apartments after authorities received reports of shots fired.

Around 7 a.m., the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department received reports of someone shooting a BB gun at a residence in the 3500 block of Morse Avenue, near Edison Avenue. However, when deputies arrived at the scene, they found evidence that shots may have been fired from a much more powerful gun.

Deputies tried to establish contact with the person who they think is the shooter. The sheriff's SWAT team was also called out to the scene.

One person was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries and caused by unknown means. Their injuries appear to be non-life threatening.
