Second Retired Sacramento Police K9 Dies This Week
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — The Sacramento Police Department is mourning the death of another retired K-9 officer.
Bandit, an 11-year-old German shepherd, passed away on Wednesday. He served the police department for eight years.

During that service, Bandit was shot in the neck by a home invasion suspect in 2010. He returned to duty three months later.
He retired in 2015 after a career where he endured being hit, choked or knocked down the stairs by criminals, and even fell through a ceiling.
Bandit's death comes a day after Bodie passed away following a tumor. Bodie also took a bullet from a suspect in 2012, shattering his jaw.
