Ban On Bobcat Trapping Takes Effect In California

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - Recreational and commercial bobcat trapping is no longer allowed in California.

Regulations banning the practice were adopted last summer by the Fish and Game Commission, effective Nov. 20.

It's now unlawful to trap or attempt to trap any bobcat, sell or export any bobcat or part of any bobcat taken in California.

Licensed trappers who catch a bobcat must immediately release it into the wild unharmed.
