Authorities Searching For Missing California Art Student, Foul Play Feared

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (AP) - Police are searching for a 22-year-old art student who didn't show up for her job at a Southern California campus where she also attends classes.

Lt. Rich Lawhead says Sahray Barber was last seen by roommates around 6 a.m. Monday as she left her San Bernardino apartment for the Art Institute of California.

Barber was reported missing after her cellphone and laptop were found in bushes of the apartment complex.

Lawhead says bloodhounds tracked Barber from her apartment door to the complex's front gate, and then the trail went cold. He says it suggests she may have gotten in a car.

Barber lives near Cal State San Bernardino, which has been on alert since two female students were attacked in separate incidents. Lawhead says there's no indication of a connection.
