Authorities Searching For Dog Who Bit Woman At Woodland Dog Park

WOODLAND (CBS13) - Woodland residents are being asked to help authorities find a dog that bit someone at a local park.

On Thursday at around 10:30 a.m., a woman was playing with her dog using a tug toy at the Woodland Dog Park on East Street, when a dog ran up, bit the toy and wouldn't let go. It then allegedly bit the woman, according to a Yolo County Sheriff's Department statement.

The dog was referred to as Rosie by its owner. It is described as a medium-size female brown pit bull, approximately two years old.

Its owner is a white male adult, about 45 years old, with grey hair and approximately 6 feet tall. He has a slender build and was wearing a hat.

Anyone who knows about the incident or the location of the owner or dog is asked by police to report it to Animal Services or the Woodland Police Department. Identifying the dog to verify current rabies vaccination will help possibly prevent the victim from post exposure rabies treatment.

Police also remind dog owners to contact Yolo County Animal Services if their dog bites someone so that their vaccinations to be verified.
