Small Plane Crashes Into South Lake Tahoe Home

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE (CBS13) – Authorities are investigating after plane crashed into a South Lake Tahoe home.

The incident happened Saturday evening along the 1600 block of Tionontati Street, according to Allen Kenitzer from the FAA Office of Communications. Authorities say two people were on board the plane, identified as Beech 35 Bonanza, when it crashed.

No one was injured in the house that was hit, authorities say, but the condition of the two people who were on the plane is unclear.

"As I drove up the road, you could see an entire building on fire," said area resident Melissa Berry.

The crash scene is just south of Lake Tahoe Airport. Authorities say the plane crashed just after taking off from the airport.

Both the FAA and National Transportation Safety Board will be investigating the crash.
