Authorities Looking For Person Who Threw Kittens From Car On Highway 50

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Investigators are looking for witnesses who saw the person throwing three kittens from a car on Highway 50 early Friday morning.

Gina Knepp of the Front Street Animal Shelter says the kittens died.

One witness called California Highway Patrol after she saw the kittens being thrown out onto Highway 50 near the Jefferson Boulevard exit during the early morning Friday commute.

But the witness didn't get a license plate.

"It's obviously disheartening and very disturbing that someone would toss a helpless kitten from a fast moving vehicle onto a freeway," Knepp said.

If caught, the suspect could face felony charges for the death of the kittens.
