Crews Battling Fire Near Auburn, Mandatory Evacuations Ordered
AUBURN (CBS13) - The latest on the Stagecoach Fire near Auburn:

Cal Fire says the forward progress of the fire has been stopped.

Authorities say that people should still heed the evacuation orders until they've been notified otherwise by officials.

Crews are battling a wildfire near Auburn early Thursday afternoon.
The scene is near Kilham Road and the Upper Stagecoach Trail in the Auburn State Recreation Area.
A large plume of smoke can be seen coming from the area. Cal Fire says structures are threatened.

The fire is burning on top of a hill. About four to five acres are burning.
Mandatory evacuations have been issued for the following areas, the Placer County Sheriff's Office says: Oak Haven Road, Flood Road in canyon, Woodland Place, Lamborn Lane, Temple Drive, Tierra Way, Mountain Avenue, Sierra Way, Flood Lane, Kilham Road, Oakhill Way, Sierra Mesa Court and Sierra Mesa Place.

An evacuation center is being set up at the Gold Country Fairgrounds in Auburn.
