A's Owner Talks New Stadium In Oakland

After years of trying to move the Oakland Athletics to San Jose, Lew Wolff said Wednesday that he's exploring ways to build a new park in Oakland, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

"I've always loved Oakland. I love our fans. But we need a new venue," Wolff told the Chornicle. "We're going to make our sincerest effort to do that."

I don't believe him.

You love Oakland, Lew? It's the place you've been trying to leave for years. If it was up to you, this team would've left Oakland a long time ago.

You love the fans, Lew? These are the same loyal fans you slammed in Sept. 2013:

"There is something wrong here," Wolff told USA TODAY. "You would think that with our lead, people would want to come out, count down the magic numbers, and all that stuff.

…It's depressing…"

Yes, the same fans who come to a rundown ballpark with sewage problems and support a team that you've been openly trying to take from them.

You're going to make a sincere effort to get a new venue in Oakland, Lou?

Wolff said in a June 2012 interview that he believed the team would be in San Jose within five years, and that that moving the team to San Jose was plan A.

What was plan B? Well, he said they didn't have one.

I truly hope the A's stay in Oakland. It's where they belong and those loyal fans deserve a state-of-the-art ballpark to go with their contending team.
