Police Detain Student After Report Of Armed Student At Beyer High In Modesto

MODESTO (CBS13) - A student has been detained by police after reports of a person with a gun on the campus of a Modesto school.
The incident happened early Thursday morning at Beyer High School.
Modesto police say the student was safely detained. No shooting occurred, police say.
According to Modesto City Schools, the student was searched and a gun was recovered.
"We are grateful for those who made a report to staff. The safety of our students and staff is our number one priority. Working together, Beyer will continue to be a safe campus," Modesto City Schools officials wrote in a statement.
Police say there were no threats of violence made towards students or staff.
