Attic of Arden Arcade home on Berrendo Drive catches fire
ARDEN ARCADE — An attic fire that damaged a Sacramento County home is under investigation Saturday evening.
Metro Fire of Sacramento crews responded to the scene on Berrendo Drive, off of Eastern Avenue, a little before 6 p.m. after getting reports of a home on fire.
There, firefighters found that the attic of a home was well-involved.
Smoke alarms alerted the family in time for them to get out safely and call 911.
Firefighters were able to stop the flames quickly, but Metro Fire says solar panels on the home did complicate the situation.
No injuries were reported in the fire. The extent of the damage to the home is being evaluated.
Exactly what started the fire is now under investigation.
