FRESNO, Calif. (AP) -- Police say a waiter returned $32,000 in cash to its owner after finding it at the eatery where it was accidentally left behind.

The Fresno Bee reports Friday that the cash was left at Applebee's restaurant Wednesday night after a mother and son left it behind it a navy blue bag. The money was from a family restaurant and rental income and they were on their way to the bank when they stopped for dinner.

When the waiter found the money after the diners left he told his boss, who called police.
