Antioch Teacher's Aide Shown Beating Student In Video Arrested

ANTIOCH, Calif. (AP) -- Police have arrested a teacher's aide on suspicion of felony abuse after a series of disturbing videos circulated on social media showing the woman slapping a young boy as two people hold him by the arms and legs.

KPIX-TV reports Antioch Police arrested Kamaljot Kaur Wednesday after interviewing the two staff members seen holding the boy, student witnesses and the 9-year-old victim.

Police say the boy, who is from Oakland, was beaten Tuesday but that he didn't have any visible injuries or complaints of pain when they spoke to him.

The videos were shot at Tobinworld II, a special-needs school in Antioch, and initially posted to Snapchat. They were captured and uploaded to Facebook late Tuesday.

Last year, a parent who says his son was abused on campus filed a lawsuit against the school.
