Ami Bera's Lead Increases To 1,432 Votes Over Doug Ose In Latest Congressional 7th District Numbers

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Ami Bera has widened his lead in the U.S. Congressional 7th District race, according to the Sacramento County Registrar's Office.

Bera's lead over challenger Doug Ose in the latest vote count increased to 1,432 votes. There are still 4,300 votes left to be counted.

Bera had a lead on Nov. 12  of 89,477 votes (50.2%) to Ose 's 88,780 (49.8%).

Bera took the lead over Ose last week. The Democrat had been trailing since late on Election Day when the results were coming in, trailing by more than 2,000 votes as of Nov. 7. The race drew closer after Nov. 10 count with Ose only leading by 530 votes.

The race has drawn nationwide attention and plenty of money from out-of-state donors to make it one of the most expensive seats up for grabs this election year.
