FREMONT (CBS13) – Authorities say a small alligator was found in Alameda County.

The gator was first reported on Monday in an Alameda County creek. A man was walking with his two daughters in Niles Canyon when he spotted the gator.

Tuesday, Fish and Wildlife showed up to take the animal.

No alligator species are native to California. It is unclear how the gator got to the Bay Area.
