Allegedly Impaired Teen Pulled from Truckee River in Reno

RENO, Nev. (AP) — A teenager who appeared intoxicated had to be pulled from the Truckee River after falling from a bridge in downtown Reno.

Police say the incident happened Sunday around 10:45 a.m. during the Hot August Nights Grand Finale Parade.

The teenage boy was on a ledge near the Virginia Street Bridge when he fell in.

Police and firefighters rescued him and he was taken to the hospital for a possible head injury.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reports that he will be arrested upon his release for allegedly fighting police and resisting arrest.

The teen's identity was not released.
