96-Year-Old California Man Charged With Molesting Girls

SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) — A 96-year-old Southern California man has been charged with molesting two young girls.

Kenneth Collins of Laguna Woods was arrested on Feb. 25 and remains jailed Tuesday on $1 million bail, making him one of the oldest inmates in the Orange County jail system.

A call to his public defender seeking comment wasn't immediately returned.

Prosecutors contend that earlier this year Collins committed lewd acts with two girls, ages 10 and 11. They say he fondled them through their clothing, masturbated and took off his adult diapers to expose himself.

Authorities say the girls weren't related to Collins, but they were frequent visitors to his home.
