4 Men Arrested A Year After Fatal Stabbing Of 14-Year-Old Boy

EUREKA, Calif. (AP) -- Eureka police say four men have been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of 14-year-old Arcata boy more than a year ago.

The Times-Standard newspaper reports investigators now believe the killing involved an internal dispute within a gang.

Jesus Joani Garcia-Romero died at a hospital on Dec. 17, 2014, after being stabbed three times in the throat and left on a Eureka lawn. Police say that attack occurred elsewhere at a residence.

The suspects are from San Luis Obispo, Watsonville and Eureka. Two of the men were arrested at prisons where they were serving time in unrelated cases.

Police Capt. Brian Stephens says all have connections in Eureka.
