4 Killed, 4 Hurt In Hit-And-Run Crash On California Freeway

POMONA, Calif. (AP) — Authorities are searching for a hit-and-run driver suspected of causing a crash that killed four people and injured four others in an SUV on a California freeway.

The California Highway Patrol says the crash happened early Saturday on eastbound State Route 60 as the eight victims were in a Ford Explorer heading home to Lake Elsinore from Universal Studios' Halloween Horror Nights.

The CHP says the Explorer lost control after being struck on the left side by a newer-model white vehicle. The Explorer overturned in lanes and ended up at the bottom of an embankment.

The Riverside Press-Enterprise says (http://bit.ly/2ecb7lV ) all four of those killed were passengers between the ages of 21 and 49.

The four survivors, two men and two women, were hospitalized with injuries ranging from moderate to major.
